A must-visit road for stunning landscapes when touring in the Hautes Vosges d'Alsace.
The Peak Route was created during the First World War for strategic purposes of communication, logistics and defence of the Vosges Front.
Always running closely along the ridgeline, this magnificent road, connecting Cernay to Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines, provides admirable views of the most typical landscapes of the Vosges Mountains: its passes, rounded summits, lakes and high pastures, offering wide, breathtaking vistas.
Caution : some parts of the road are closed in winter due to heavy snowfall (usually from mid-November to the end of March).
